Basalt geogrid is a planar network-like material made of basalt fiber yarn that is resistant to alkali, acid and corrosion, and is woven into a substrate using advanced foreign warp knitting machines. It adopts a warp knitting orientation structure, making full use of the strength of the yarn in the fabric, so that it has good tensile strength, tear strength and creep resistance, and is coated with high-quality modified asphalt. Basalt geogrids have the advantages of basalt fibers that are resistant to high temperature, freeze-thaw resistance (-260-650℃), consistent with asphalt concrete thermal expansion coefficient, high tensile strength, ultraviolet resistance, good chemical stability, and anti-aging, so they can be used for road surface enhancement and road diseases such as cracks and ruts, ending the problem of difficulty in strengthening asphalt road surfaces.
The elastic modulus of basalt fiber asphalt concrete at room temperature is as high as 24:1, with high deformation resistance and elongation of fracture of about 3.1%. Basalt fibers have the advantages of high temperature resistance, freeze-thaw resistance (-260-650℃), consistent with asphalt concrete thermal expansion coefficient, high tensile strength, ultraviolet resistance, good chemical stability, and anti-aging. Since the mixing temperature of asphalt mixture is as high as 190℃, high temperature resistant basalt fibers are a new material with very competitive advantages to replace polyester fibers and lignin fibers. It not only meets the high temperature resistance requirements during asphalt stirring construction up to 190℃, but also is an excellent building material to enhance the anti-seepage and crack resistance of cement concrete.
Features
1. High tensile strength and low elongation: Basalt fiber geogrids are made of basalt fibers, and the tensile strength of basalt fibers is extremely high, exceeding other fibers and ordinary metals. At the same time, its modulus is very high, has high resistance to deformation, and has an elongation of fracture of less than 3%.
2. Excellent physical and chemical stability: basalt fibers themselves are highly acid-alkali corrosion-resistant. Basalt geogrids can resist various physical wear and chemical erosion, and can also resist biological erosion and climate change to ensure that their performance is not lost.
3. No long-term creep: As a reinforcing material, it is extremely important to have the ability to resist deformation under long-term loading, that is, creep resistance. Basalt fibers will not creep, ensuring that the product can maintain its performance for a long time.
4. Good thermal stability: The melting point of basalt fibers is above 1500℃, and the long-term use temperature is between -260° and 650°, ensuring the stability of the basalt geogrids to withstand high temperatures during paving operations.
5. Fatigue cracking: In the asphalt surface layer, the basalt geogrid can disperse the compressive and tensile stresses generated by pressing the wheels across the road surface, forming a buffer zone between the two stressed areas. The stress gradually changes instead of a sudden change, reducing the damage to the asphalt surface layer by sudden stress changes. At the same time, the low elongation of the basaltic geogrid reduces the amount of deflection of the road surface and ensures that the road surface will not be excessively deformed.
6. High temperature rut resistance: Use basalite geogrids in asphalt surfaces, which play a skeleton role in the asphalt surfaces. In asphalt concrete, aggregate runs through the grille, forming a composite mechanical locking system, limiting the movement of aggregate, increasing the lateral binding force in the asphalt surface layer, and the parts in the asphalt surface layer are restrained from each other, preventing the asphalt surface layer from moving, thus resisting ruts.
7. Resistant to low-temperature shrinkage: Under low-temperature conditions, asphalt concrete shrinks when cold, resulting in tensile stress. When the tensile stress exceeds the tensile strength of asphalt concrete, cracks occur. The application of basal geogrids in asphalt surface layers improves the lateral tensile strength of the surface layer, greatly improving the tensile strength of asphalt concrete, and can resist large tensile stress without causing damage. In addition, even if cracks occur in local areas, the stress generated by the cracks disappears through the transmission of the basalite geogrid, and the cracks will not develop into cracks.
8. Compatibility with asphalt mixture: The materials coated by basal geogrids in the post-treatment process are designed for asphalt mixtures. Each fiber is fully coated and has high compatibility with asphalt, thus ensuring that the basal geogrids do not become isolated from the asphalt mixture in the asphalt layer, but are firmly bonded together.
